Il est essentiel de s\u2019assurer que les nouvelles infrastructures et les d\u00e9veloppements communautaires sont con\u00e7us pour r\u00e9sister aux risques associ\u00e9s au climat et qu\u2019ils ne sont pas plac\u00e9s dans des zones d\u00e9sign\u00e9es \u00e0 haut risque.<\/p>\n<p>Il faut faire des investissements pr\u00e9ventifs pour s\u2019assurer que les infrastructures b\u00e2ties et naturelles sont capables de r\u00e9sister aux d\u00e9g\u00e2ts caus\u00e9s par le climat. La conception et l\u2019entretien des infrastructures telles que les ponts, les chemins de fer, les h\u00f4pitaux et les \u00e9coles doivent tenir compte des changements pr\u00e9vus dans les extr\u00eames climatiques. Les infrastructures naturelles, qui peuvent att\u00e9nuer les effets des inondations et des s\u00e9cheresses, seront \u00e9galement affect\u00e9es par les risques d\u2019incendie, de s\u00e9cheresse, de propagation de parasites et de maladies. Les entreprises, les ing\u00e9nieurs, les politiciens et les planificateurs doivent comprendre ces risques pour prendre des d\u00e9cisions \u00e9clair\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re d\u2019investissement dans des infrastructures r\u00e9sistantes au climat.<\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9gion de l\u2019Atlantique (avec la r\u00e9gion du Nord) a \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9e comme l\u2019une des r\u00e9gions du Canada ayant le plus besoin d\u2019investissements d\u2019adaptation pour se prot\u00e9ger contre les risques climatiques y compris pour r\u00e9pondre aux priorit\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re d\u2019infrastructure des b\u00e2timents locaux, des digues et des routes (Bureau d\u2019assurance du Canada [BAC] et F\u00e9d\u00e9ration canadienne des municipalit\u00e9s [FCM], 2020).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Des images avant et apr\u00e8s provenant du projet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lkdltWyZUEc&amp;t=6s\">Marshall&#8217;s Crossing de Clean Foundation<\/a> sont ci-dessous. En 2018, Clean Coasts a identifi\u00e9 l&#8217;effondrement des ponceaux sur le site de Marshall&#8217;s Crossing comme un obstacle \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9coulement et au passage des poissons, provoquant des inondations d&#8217;eau douce. Ils ont construit un pont pour restaurer l&#8217;habitat des marais sal\u00e9s \u00e0 Marshall&#8217;s Crossing et am\u00e9liorer la connectivit\u00e9 entre les paysages.
