Cependant, l\u2019agriculture se nourrit d\u2019un climat stable et pr\u00e9visible pour la production. \u00c0 mesure que le climat change, des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques plus instables et impr\u00e9visibles peuvent entra\u00eener une baisse des rendements et des revenus agricoles. Comment les agriculteurs peuvent-ils \u00e9viter de d\u00e9grader les ressources naturelles, r\u00e9duire leurs co\u00fbts de chauffage et de refroidissement, limiter la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019augmenter les intrants externes tels que les pesticides et les engrais, tout en diminuant le risque de dommages dus aux inondations ou \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse? Les services et les informations climatiques peuvent contribuer \u00e0 accro\u00eetre la r\u00e9silience dans ce secteur<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les mod\u00e8les climatiques d\u00e9montrent que la saison froide va raccourcir, prolongeant ainsi la saison de croissance. Mais la prolongation de la saison de croissance s\u2019accompagne d\u2019une augmentation de la probabilit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9pisodes de temp\u00e9ratures \u00e9lev\u00e9es et d\u2019une modification du r\u00e9gime des pr\u00e9cipitations \u2013 en particulier la probabilit\u00e9 d\u2019inondations et de s\u00e9cheresses au cours d\u2019une m\u00eame ann\u00e9e. Ceci obligera les agriculteurs \u00e0 apporter des changements importants, \u00e0 cerner les nouvelles possibilit\u00e9s et \u00e0 \u00e9valuer les moyens d\u2019accro\u00eetre la r\u00e9silience<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Avec des risques accrus de s\u00e9cheresse et d\u2019inondation, les printemps et les automnes humides peuvent compliquer la t\u00e2che des agriculteurs qui souhaitent profiter de la saison de croissance plus longue promise par la hausse des temp\u00e9ratures. Des pluies pr\u00e9coces ou tardives peuvent tout simplement rendre la terre trop humide pour supporter le poids des machines agricoles, et peuvent compromettre les phases importantes des semailles, de la maturation ou du s\u00e9chage de nombreuses cultures<\/p>\n<p>Les exploitants agricoles devront s\u2019adapter pour int\u00e9grer d\u2019autres m\u00e9thodes agricoles.
